Grenser Baroque transverse flute is perfect for beginners and students because it is made of resin material/polymer plastic. It will not crack because of extreme weather conditions and will not change its tone and does not require maintenance and care that a wood flute requires.

Pitched in A=440 Hz with a round-Early embouchure hole, it has 6 finger holes and one pinky finger D# key.

This model is a reproduction of an original by August Grenser flute housed in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.

Black colour polymer is used to make it look like Grenadilla wood. The ends are protected by imitation Ivory rings to provide a classic touch that replicates the timeless elegance of genuine Ivory.

The package includes a wooden case, a cleaning cloth, replacement pads for the keys, and a fingering chart.

History:

  • Carl August Grenser initiated his instrument-making career as an apprentice to Johann Poerschmann in Leipzig before establishing his own workshop in Dresden in 1744. Karl August Grenser, along with his nephew Johann Henrich Grenser, continuously refined and modified their flute designs over time.
  • In addition to flutes, Grenser demonstrated his versatility as an instrument maker by crafting clarinets, basset-horns, and a bass clarinet. Several of Grenser's flutes were crafted to allow historically accurate tunings.  These instruments were renowned for their bright and crisp tonal quality and were adaptable to various tuning.
