Drawing inspiration from the craftsmanship of Theodor Lotz (1746–92), a renowned Viennese maker of clarinets for Anton Stadler, Mozart's virtuoso clarinet player, we have designed this instrument based on the sketch found of Anton Stadler's concert program in Riga of 1794. The key system evokes the early 5-key clarinet.

This basset horn is tuned in G, extends its range to include low chromatic notes down to written C. Renowned for its rich sound, it is exceptionally versatile and suitable for performing a wide range of compositions beyond Mozart's repertoire.

  • Crafted from Indian Cocobolo wood with imitation Ivory protection rings, the body of the basset horn boasts durability and aesthetic appeal. The keys are casted from brass, steel springs with best suitable pads.
  • Included in the package are two bells, 'bulbous' (L shaped) and 'straight'.
  • Equipped with two barrels for A440 and A430 tuning.
  • It is designed to be used with a standard Bb clarinet mouthpiece. The barrel receiver is tailored for modern Bb mouthpieces, including the Vandoren B40 and B45.
  • Additionally, accessories such as a plush lined protective case, extra set of pads, cleaning cloth, and a carrying strap are provided.
