This flute is a reproduction of the original August Grenser (Dresden 1720-1807). Grenser went on to become one of the most famous wind instrument makers of the 18th-century.

In addition to flutes, Grenser demonstrated his versatility as an instrument maker by crafting clarinets, basset-horns, and a bass clarinet. Several of Grenser's flutes were crafted to allow historically accurate tunings. These instruments were renowned for their bright and crisp tonal quality and were adaptable to various tuning.
